Abstract

Background: Chronic pain is a disease which reduces quality of life to the patients who suffer its physical, psychological and social consequences. Patient evaluation and management focus on pain symptoms, functional disabilities, comorbidity and medication use or overuse. Treatment of chronic pain patient involves a comprehensive approach using medications and nonmedical treatmnet. Opioids could be useful and effective when are based on clear pain diagnosis and are carried out on the recommendations for chronic noncancer pain treatment with opioids.
